The Kasadya Parolan Christmas Lantern Parade and Celebration was successfully held on December 7 in UP Mindanao on the theme, “”Kaugalíngon, Tinúbdan sa Níndot nga Kausában: Átong Pagláum sa Karóng Kapáskuhan” (Self, the Source of Positive Change: Our Hope for this Christmas). The Mintal Elementary School Drum and Lyre and majorettes led the Parade and performed their competition routine and repertoire.
Parol Christmas Lanterns were paraded by University constituents and were individually presented in the Kasadya Christmas Program, alternating with the Kasadya Epic Dance Showdown and the Awarding Ceremonies.

The University of the Philippines (UP) celebrated the return of its beloved ‘sons and daughters’ on June 25, 2016 as the UP Alumni Association (UPAA) held its General Alumni Homecoming at the Ang Bahay ng Alumni, UP Diliman, with the theme, Walang Humpay ang Tagumpay (Never Ending Success and Achievements).
The celebration featured the official recognition of the UP Distinguished Alumni Awardees for 2016. The awardees were led by Most Distinguished Alumnus David M. Consunji (represented by son Isidro and wife Fredesvinda) and Most Distinguished Alumna Amina Rasul-Bernardo.
The University of the Philippines joins the rest of the country in celebrating the 12th Development Policy Research Month this September. Celebrations lead agency, the Philippine Institute of Development Studies (PIDS) said, this year’s theme is Addressing the Jobs Challenge toward Inclusive Growth.
Since 2002, the PIDS has been leading the celebrations after President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo issued Proclamation No. 247 on September 2 of that year. The Institute has been tasked to promoted and draw nationwide awareness on the importance of policy research in the formulation of national development plans, programs and policies.

Apolinarion Mabini and Isabelo delos Reyes have one thing in common – both of them will celebrate their 150th birth anniversaries this year.
Mabini, the “Brains of the Revolution,” was one of the country’s most important intellectuals during the country’s revolutionary period. Delos Reyes, the “Father of Filipino Socialism,” was a journalist, folklorist, politician, and labor activist.

One week of honor and excellence in mass communication!
The University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication celebrates its college week from March 10 to 14 with various activities that promote the “tatak UP” (UP brand) in serving the people.
The opening program happens on March 10 (Monday), 1 p.m. at the CMC auditorium, to be followed by the inauguration of the CMC library and the Freedom of Information Garden at 2 p.m.
The weeklong book fair and CMC exhibit will also open on Monday.
