DENR, Bohol seek help of scientists in ongoing biodiversity conference

At the opening dinner of the First International Conference Biodiversity & Chemical Biology of Marine and Terrestrial Life in the Philippine Region on 16 October, newly appointed secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Gina Lopez and Atty. Edgardo Chato, governor of Bohol, emphasized the value of science-based decisions when they appealed to our researchers to help in the conservation and development of marine biodiversity in the Philippines. Lopez, who could not come to the event due to the typhoon, sent her message through Undersecretary Isabelo Montejo.

Urban growth and environment experts called on voters to evaluate the development and ecological agendas of candidates as they choose who to vote in the Philippine national elections on May 9.

UP celebrates Earth Day 2016 with Tree Nurturing activity

UP Cebu wins Green Fashion Revolution 2014

How do you recycle discarded tarpaulins?
The students from the University of the Philippines Cebu showcased on Saturday woven tribal costumes made of tarpaulins and these designs ruled the runway.

The University of the Philippines Cebu emerged as champion in the 2014 Green Fashion Revolution, an intercollegiate environmental fashion show held at SM City Cebu on Saturday.
Van Oscar, one of the designers from UP Cebu, said it took them almost a month to prepare for the event.
The UP Cebu team received P25,000 while its adopted community, Barangay Camputhaw, will be given seed money of P40,000 to implement the students’ chosen project.
