The University of the Philippines marked the beginning of its second century with a UP System Conference, “The Challenge of Being a National University: Looking Toward UP’s Second Century,” at the Subic Holiday Villas in Olongapo City from May 20 to 22.
CHED reinstates UP centers of excellence

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has reinstated two UP constituent universities as centers of excellence for a period of three years, from 2009 to 2012.

PGH secures latest ISO certification

The Philippine General Hospital (PGH) received its ISO 9001: 2008 certificate on May 25, 2009 during the ceremonies held within the hospital’s premises. Vice President and General Manager Paul Bagatsing from the Anglo-Japanese-American (AJA) Registrar was present to give the much-coveted certification to PGH’s and the University’s representatives President Emerlinda R. Roman, Regent Nelia Gonzalez, UP Manila Chancellor Ramon Arcadio, and PGH Director Carmelo Alfiler.

(PSMI).
